Kole spends schools holidays away from her cousins and at a beach house with her mother for the first time. She meets and develops a friendship with Mama Winnie, who keeps her company during school holidays by introducing her to some of her friends from South Africa, Mozambique and Botswana. Kole spends her days talking to Mme Victoria, Ntate Sobukwe and Ntate Khama. This new relationship leaves Kole with a better understanding of some southern Africa’s history and most importantly, what it means to live a life of purpose.
