The book explores a fractured mother-daughter relationship set during apartheid's end in South Africa. Teenager Kelelo, daughter of freedom fighter Kewame "Dolly" Malaka, navigates tension between her new desegregated school life and her emotionally distant mother, who carries trauma from political imprisonment. The novel interlaces their voices to reveal unspoken wounds, buried histories, and the complex inheritance of resilience, pain, and responsibility that bind and divide generations of Black South African women.

If you're not completely satisfied with your purchase, you may request a return within 7 days of receiving your order, provided the item is unused, in its original condition and accompanied by proof of purchase.
If your order arrives damaged, defective or incorrect, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and photos of the item. Once your return has been inspected, we'll arrange a replacement, exchange or refund where applicable.

Back Orders & Pre Orders
Some books may be available as Pre Orders or Back Orders.
Pre Orders allow you to reserve upcoming releases before they are officially available. Orders are dispatched once the book is released and stock is received.
Back Orders allow you to purchase titles that are temporarily out of stock. Your order will be shipped as soon as new stock arrives from the publisher or distributor.
